(Skin.)

Fournier gangrene

Rapidly spreading perineal erythema with dusky skin, crepitus, pain out of proportion, and systemic signs — provider notified urgently, sepsis pathway, emergency transfer, representative notified, serial vitals; life-threatening surgical emergency; supports Section M/I. (Sepsis overlay.)

Perineal wound infection

Perineal wound with spreading erythema, purulence, and fever — provider notified, culture/antibiotics and wound-care adjustment ordered, systemic monitoring, care plan revised; reassess; supports Section M. (Skin/Sepsis.)
