• Skilled recognition of new vaginal bleeding in a postmenopausal patient was required to notify the provider for urgent evaluation, initiating a workup for a malignancy that must be excluded and that would otherwise have been dismissed at home.
• Skilled assessment of a post-hysterectomy patient was required to recognize signs of vaginal-cuff dehiscence, prompting urgent notification and evaluation before evisceration.
• Skilled recognition of disproportionate perineal pain with crepitus and systemic toxicity was required to activate EMS for a necrotizing perineal infection (cross-reference External Genitalia).
