Document each teaching point with topic, method, audience, and measured mastery (teach-back percentage or return-demonstration result), per Foundations — Teach-back and return demonstration.

  • The prescribed therapeutic diet — what it is, why it matters, and how to follow it (for example sodium label reading, carbohydrate consistency, renal restrictions, or texture modification per IDDSI).
  • Strategies to increase intake when at risk — calorie- and protein-dense foods, small frequent meals, and supplement use.
  • Enteral feeding technique and site care with return demonstration, including flushing and positioning.
  • Recognizing and reporting declining intake, unintended weight change, or enteral intolerance.
  • Safe-swallowing strategies reinforced (mechanics taught in Taste / Swallowing).
