4. Normal findings

The reference range below is the yardstick for “normal/at-baseline.” Normal findings are documented in Mode A with the skilled rationale that follows in Section 6 — never as “WNL” alone.

  • Adequate sleep quantity and quality for the patient, reported as restorative.
  • No significant insomnia — acceptable latency and few disruptive awakenings.
  • No excessive daytime sleepiness affecting function.
  • No sleep-disordered-breathing red flags on screen.
  • Any sleep aid in use is safe and effective.
  • Sleep supports daytime function, mood, and safety.
  • CPAP or BiPAP adherent and tolerated where applicable.
