- Skilled structural head and scalp assessment and, after any strike, serial neuro-check surveillance per order.
- Scalp wound or lesion assessment and care, with coordination to Wounds as needed.
- Recognition and escalation of secondary-headache, giant-cell-arteritis, and delayed-bleed red flags.
- Skilled teaching of head-injury precautions and the signs that require emergency care.
- Anticoagulation-risk evaluation after any head strike, applying the Anticoagulation overlay.
- Coordination with the provider and, for any neurologic or cognitive change, the Neurological and Cognitive pathways.
