• Skilled recognition of sudden unilateral hearing loss was required to arrange urgent ENT evaluation within the treatment window for sudden sensorineural hearing loss, preserving the chance of recovery.
• Skilled evaluation of acute vertigo was required to identify accompanying slurred speech and gait unsteadiness, triggering BE-FAST and EMS activation for a suspected central cause rather than a missed stroke.
• Skilled teaching of hearing-aid use, with the patient return-demonstrating insertion and cleaning, was required to restore the communication needed for the patient to follow the rest of the care plan (cross-reference Communication).
