• Post-operative precautions and the movements to avoid, with return demonstration.
• Safe transfer technique, assistive-device use, and energy conservation.
• Fall-prevention strategies and home-hazard reduction (cross-reference Safety).
• Pain-management strategy and when activity should be modified.
• Signs that require a call to the agency versus activation of EMS (e.g. suspected fracture, sudden severe pain).
