  • Bleeding precautions — soft toothbrush, electric razor, fall and injury prevention, and what bleeding to report — with return demonstration.
  • Infection precautions for immunosuppressed patients — hand hygiene, avoiding sick contacts, and treating any fever as urgent — with return demonstration.
  • The signs of anemia and when to report fatigue, dyspnea, or dizziness.
  • The signs of a transfusion reaction where home transfusion is provided.
  • The signs of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism and to seek emergency care for them.
  • When to call the agency versus when to activate EMS (e.g. significant bleeding, chest pain, a fever when neutropenic).
