  • At-risk-limb precautions — avoiding injury, blood draws, and blood-pressure cuffs on the affected side, and prompt care of any skin break — with return demonstration.
  • Compression-garment or bandage use, application, and skin care, with return demonstration.
  • The signs of lymphangitis and cellulitis and to seek urgent care for red streaking, warmth, and fever.
  • Skin care and injury prevention to protect the lymphedematous or at-risk limb.
  • Elevation, exercise, and self-management within the lymphedema plan.
  • When to call the agency versus when to seek urgent care.
