Lymphedema and at-risk-limb management support homebound status through mobility limitation and intensive limb care; document the patient-specific evidence when present and do not overstate it.

Lymphatic-related evidence that supports homebound status

  • Lymphedema limiting mobility and requiring intensive limb care and compression that make leaving home a taxing effort.
  • An at-risk limb requiring skilled protection and monitoring after mastectomy or node dissection.
  • A lymphatic infection or complication that limits leaving home.
  • A need for assistance and a taxing effort to leave home where lymphatic management is ongoing.
