Nose / Sinuses
The nose, nasal airway, and sinuses. Routed here: nasal patency, epistaxis, sinus symptoms, smell change, the skin under a nasal-oxygen cannula, and post-nasal symptoms. Oxygen-therapy management lives in Respiratory and the COPD overlay; epistaxis on an anticoagulant is shared with the Anticoagulation overlay; epistaxis with severe hypertension is shared with the Hypertension overlay; loss of smell affecting intake is shared with Taste/Swallowing; a nasal-cannula pressure injury is shared with Wounds.
This module supplies the nasal and sinus assessment, with particular attention to two home-health realities — controlling epistaxis in anticoagulated or hypertensive patients, and protecting the nares from pressure injury under a continuous-oxygen cannula — and the skilled language that proves the care took a licensed nurse.
